They don't pull out like most wiper arms. So you have to turn on the power to your van & turn the wipers on, then shut the power off to the vehicle when the wipers are in the straight up and down position. Then you can pull the blades off. It's still a small space to work with. Just be careful not to let the wiper arm snap back into place (scratch or crack your windshield).
