To change the transmission fluid on a 1994 Suzuki Vitara JX, first, ensure the vehicle is on a level surface and safely elevated. Remove the drain plug from the transmission pan to let the old fluid drain completely. After replacing the drain plug, remove the transmission pan, clean it, and replace the filter if applicable. Finally, refill the transmission with new fluid through the dipstick tube, checking the level with the engine running and the transmission in neutral.
You drain the fluid first, and then replace the filter and put new fluid back in.
