Coupe or Aerodek..... and what CC ? It's goin to be a D16 and the coupe or hatchback doesnt' matter. Follow the lower rad hose; where it bolts up the the thermostat assembly arround that area you`ll find the sensors. There will be 2 sensors there; the one wire one works your coolant temp guage, the 2 wire one is the one your computer uses for temperature fueling compensation and to activate your cooling fan relay. The older civics used a thermo swith; another 2 wire one but it was bigger than the sensors and used thicker wire to do the same thing. Activate the relay to turn the fans. Fans rarely come on with the car just idling they run quite cool. Took a spirited drive on my sisters after I did some work on it before it activated
