With a feeler gauge like you would for any other motor. Most plugs are pre gapped to spec and all you do is confirm, just in case. Find correct gap for your plugs and gauge them before install. You drag the blade between electrode and ground strap just so you feel a slight drag-not too tight. If necessary, bend strap (carefully) up or down to get right clearance with a needle nose or similar, don't pry against electrode. The easiest to use (and cheapest) gauge is the circular disc key chain type auto stores usually have by the register.
