Odometer is an instrument that can measure miles or kilometer depending on how it is calibrated
Read it from the odometer - a total mileage recorder usually on the speedometer dial.
To read the odometer on a 2014 Chevrolet Impala, simply look at the digital display on the instrument cluster, which is located behind the steering wheel. The odometer shows the total distance the vehicle has traveled, typically in miles or kilometers. You can toggle between trip meters and the total odometer by using the buttons on the steering wheel or the dashboard controls. If the display is not functioning, check the vehicle's fuse or consult the owner's manual for troubleshooting steps.
You read an odometer from the left to the right. The last number represents tenths of a mile.

The -E-ngine -C-ontrol -M-odule, or ECM recorded the vehicle mileage along with the odometer. The EMC mileage can be read by a scan tool at most dealerships or repair shops with the proper equipment. It is possible for the two mileages to differ slightly, but a large variance may indicate a faulty odometer, or possibly odometer tampering.
It changes the ratio between the drive differential and the wheels. Your odometer will read high for the distance traveled.
To reset the odometer error on a 1990 Cadillac Brougham after changing the battery, you may need to disconnect the battery again and leave it disconnected for about 10-15 minutes to reset the vehicle's computer. After reconnecting the battery, check if the odometer resets itself. If the error persists, consult the vehicle's manual or a mechanic for specific procedures or diagnostic tools needed to address the issue.
no it will not reset..
Press and hold in the odometer setting button till display shows miles or kilometers
To change the odometer reading from kilometers to miles on a Dodge Ram 1500, start the vehicle and access the instrument cluster settings. Use the buttons on the steering wheel or dashboard to navigate to the settings menu. Look for the "Units" or "Display" option, and select "Miles" to switch from kilometers. Save the changes, and the odometer should now display miles.
The odometer is electronic, there is a plug in on the back of the speedometer, however the plugin for the odometer also may power other controls, so this may not be a good idea. I dont know why your trying to stop the odometer but your out of luck the computer keeps track of your information your odometer is just a read out like a monitor
When I turn my jeep on. While I was bleeding my brake line this came over my odometer in my dash board.
