check the fuel filter first replace then still a problem , listen for a humming or whine on fuel tank if none change the pump
Change the fuel filter first. If that doesn't help, change the fuel pump.
Is it an electronic or mechanical
If the fuel pump becomes noisy you can rest assured it is going bad. But, the pump maybe going bad and not make any noise at all. Anytime you have a problem with fuel delivery, first thing to do is replace the fuel filter. After replacing the fuel filter a fuel pressure test will verify the condition of the pump.
chech your fuel filter or your fuel pump. i had the same problem, mine was the filter
Tha may be fuel filter from fuel pump or fuel filter outside of gas tank or the car injectors
It is obvious the fuel pump is not your problem. Did you replace the fuel filter? Is the fuse blown? Is the relay good? Is the fuel pressure regulator ok?
Replace the fuel filter before proceeding. That may be your problem. It may also be a fuel pump failing, especially if the fuel filter is clogged. A clogged fuel filter will ruin an otherwise good pump. Can also be a defective fuel pump relay.
Filter will let you excellerate than quit, Fuel pump will not run at all
There is not inline fuel filter on a 2004 Sebring. The only filter on it is the one on the fuel pump and the only way to change that is to replace the fuel pump. $175 at autozone. Ridiculous I know!!
Fuel filter is located inside the fuel tank so you have to remove you fuel tank to replace the fuel filter. I had a problem with mine and had to replace the fuel pump and filter at the same time.
More likely you need to replace the fuel filter, or your injectors need cleaning. That's what our problem was... injectors, especially. When you have stalling or starting problems. A fuel pressure test will verify the condition of the fuel pump. Like the above answer said, replace the fuel filter before doing anything. That may solve your problem.
Bad fuel pump? Bad fuel pump relay? Plugged fuel filter?
