There should be punched marks on the cam sprockets which need to be lined up with factory punched marks on the rear timing belt cover, immediately behind and just above the sprocket. Line those 2 gears up and bring crank shaft damper to 0 degrees top dead center according to first mark on dampers, left side as you face the motor check to see if your distributor rotor is facing the number one terminal if not complete full rotation because motor is on exhaust stroke.

For a Ford Laser 1800 twin cam, the camshaft timing marks are typically aligned when the engine is set to Top Dead Center (TDC) on the compression stroke of the first cylinder. The timing marks on the camshaft gears should line up with the corresponding marks on the engine or timing cover, ensuring that the exhaust and intake cams are in the correct position. It's essential to consult the specific service manual for your vehicle model for precise markings and procedures, as variations may exist. Always verify that the timing belt or chain is properly tensioned after alignment.
Timing marks for twin cam 1.6L B6 engine. When crank pulley is at TDC on the compression stroke, 'E' & 'I' on the camshaft pulleys should be at 12 o'clock. Too easy.
To set the timing on a Fiat Palio 16V Twin Cam, first ensure the engine is at top dead center (TDC) on the first cylinder. Use the timing marks on the crankshaft pulley and the timing cover to align the marks accurately. Next, check the position of the camshaft to ensure it is aligned with its timing marks. Finally, tighten the timing belt tensioner and reassemble any components removed during the process. Always refer to the vehicle’s service manual for specific torque specifications and procedures.
Ah, the timing marks on a Ford Laser twin cam are like little guides to help you align everything just right. Take your time, use a light touch, and follow the marks closely as you adjust the timing. Remember, there are no mistakes, just happy little adjustments along the way.
To set the camshaft timing on an Opel Corsa 1.7 DTI with a 16-valve twin cam engine, you will need to locate the timing marks on the camshaft gears and the crankshaft. Use a timing tool to lock the camshafts and the crankshaft in the correct position according to the manufacturer's specifications. Rotate the engine to ensure the timing marks align properly, then tighten the camshaft gear bolts to secure the timing. Double-check the timing marks to ensure accuracy before reassembling the engine components.
the timing marks on the cam sprockets need to lined up. I would not attempt this repair if you don't know what you're doing. If the timing is off and you rotate the engine, you can cause severe damage to your valves.
on the twin overhead cams, four notches that have to line up with a straight edge with 2.0 front up for 2 liter motors and 2.4 front up for 2.4 liter motors and the bottom mark is behind the lower front cover ,after you remove the harmonic balancer, and the plastic cover
Run a compression check. If the compression is up the cam timing is probably right.
The base model pathfinder comes with a single camshaft. There is an upgraded vq33e that comes with twin cams found in the 97 and up SE (special edition) model.
First put the #1 piston all the way up in the cyl.Make sure your crank shaft timing mark is lined up.There's another timing mark on the left side as you look at the crank shaft on the other gear(intermeteate gear). It too must be lined up. Put your cam gears timing marks together with all the valves closed on #1 cyl.
