To change the shift solenoid in a 1999 Acura TL, first, disconnect the negative battery cable to ensure safety. Then, drain the transmission fluid and remove the transmission pan to access the solenoid. Locate the shift solenoid, disconnect its electrical connector, and unbolt it from its mounting location. Replace it with the new solenoid, reassemble the transmission pan, refill with transmission fluid, and reconnect the battery.
