place appropriate size wrench (probably 15mm) on the bolt through the middle of the tensioner pulley and put clockwise tension on it, this will ease the tension on the belt enough to remove it.
loosen the 7/8 main nut on the tensioner then back off the adjuster 12mm till there is enough slack to remove the belt
Remove beltUnbolt tensioner and remove
Chain.
To remove the alternator bracket on a 1992 Isuzu Rodeo, first disconnect the negative battery terminal to ensure safety. Then, remove the alternator belt and any electrical connections from the alternator. Unbolt the alternator from the bracket and then remove the bolts securing the bracket to the engine. Finally, carefully lift the bracket off the engine.
loosen adjuster bolts and take off belt......
I am in a bind, I need to remove lower timing belt cover of 2005 Honda Pilot, there is a bolt (10mm) at the end of timing cover (1 o'clock) right under front camshaft pulley, there is only one serpentine belt for for the engine, the serpentine belt is removed, by pushing the belt adjuster, now that belt adjuster is right in front of the 10 mm bolt that holds lower timing belt cover, do I need to remove that in order to remove cover and bolt? I have tried but its not coming off?
Remove the right wheel, then get down underneath it, remove the splash shield, back off the adjuster, remove the belt, and unbolt it.
it is adjusted throught the power steering pump loosen the adjuster bolts remove belt and reverse
FIRST DISCONNECT THE BATTERY NEGITIVE TERMINAL!!!!! looking at the alternator, on the left side, down low, is a belt adjusting bolt 10mm i belive.there are also 2 bolts in front holding the alternator in place. loosen the 2 bolts first then loosen the belt adjuster bolt to get the belt off. then remove the 2 bolts in front holding the alternator in place. remove the alternator from the brackets. disconnect the wireing to the alternator. then you can lift the alternator out. you may have to squeeze it by the fan blades but it will come out. if you want to remove the fan blades to make it easer. i did not have to my self. reassembly is the reverse. when you go to tighten the belt make shure it is very good and tight rodeo's will squeel if it is not tight.
You have to remove the ac belt first then the v belt. Once you get them off you need to replace the v belt and ensure it is tight enough. then the ac belt.
how do you change the serpentine belt on a 2001 Rodeo
The "serpentine" belt does not serpentine. It runs the alternator and water pump only. To change you will need to work from underneath. If you have AC remove the AC belt by loosing the AC adjuster bolt and sliding the compressor over. If you have to take the AC belt off better change it, they are cheap and you don't want to do this again for a long time. Loosen the alternator adjuster pinch bolt. Some Fireos has a adjuster screw, some don't Move the alternator to loosen belt. Remove and install new. Tension belt to recommended tension on packaging on new belt. Reinstall AC belt, use the tension instructions on the package.
