Open the screw of the speedometer panel. Make sure it's not connected to the dash. Once removed, remove 4-6 screws that hold the speedomeer to the frame of the dash. Then remove the cables from the speedometer. Once loose, go underneath the steering wheel and disconnect the wire from the computer harness.

The most common reason for a speedometer to fail is a broken speedometer cable. Loosen the nuts on each end of the speedometer cable. Remove the speedometer cable retaining clips. Reverse the process to install the new speedometer cable.
Remove the dash panel cover. Remove the speedometer retaining ring. Remove the cable from the back of the speedometer. Reverse the process to install the new speedometer.

The 1991 Geo speedometer cable is held in place with a swivel nut on each end of the cable. Turn the swivel nut to the left to remove the speedometer cable. Reverse the process to install the new speedometer cable.

The Vehicle Speed Sensor or VSS is connected to the transaxle by one bolt. The speedometer Control Cable feeds into it at one end and the Speedometer Driven Gear is at the other end.

U HAVE TO REMOVE THE SPEEDOMETER FACE PLATE, AND REMOVE THE SPEEDOMETER AND THERE ARE ALL THE LIGHTS ON THE BACK PART OF THE SPEEDOMETER, PD:BE CAREFULL WHEN REMOVING THE SPEEDOMETER THERE IS A SPPEDO CABLE UNDER NEED U HAVE TO DISCONECT THE CABLE FROM BEHIND.
Remove cable from speedometer head and squirt proper lubricant through cable housing
