look at the fuel tank from under the car. there are two starps and bars that you take off but be careful depending on how much gas is in it. and the straps are hard to put back on there. Drain the tank. Disconnect the 2 fuel hoses / lines going to the tank. Support the metal skid plate. Floor jack with a large cushioned pad or piece of plywood works well. Remove the bolts (IIRC - 8 ) that hold the skid plate to the frame. The tank will drop with the skid plate. Drop it several inches to allow access to the electrical harness. Disconnect by pulling sharply upward. After that the tank should come down as you guide it between the frame rails.
