How do you remove the gas tank of a ducati monster 695?

To raise the tank you undo the clasp at the front of the tank (immediately behind the ignition key slot), This allow you to flip up the tank from the front as the rear of the tank is on a hinge attached to the frame under the front of the seat. To remove the tank completely disconnect all pipes (making sure you have a way to prevent fuel spillage - turn fuel tap off etc., and any wiring for fuel light, pump etc.) then either remove the tank hinge pivot which is secured by a cotter pin, or undo the two allen bolts that attach the hinge to the frame.
