To replace the fuel pump on a 1999 Suzuki Grand Vitara, first disconnect the negative battery cable and relieve the fuel system pressure. Remove the rear seat and access the fuel pump cover, then disconnect the fuel lines and electrical connectors. Take out the old pump from the tank, install the new pump, and reassemble everything by reversing the removal steps. Finally, reconnect the battery and check for leaks before starting the vehicle.

It is more difficult than it needs to be. You must remove the front grill, and then remove the headlight assembly. A useful link is here: http://www.suzuki-forums.com/1g-1999-2005-vitara-grand-vitara/17607-how-do-i-replace-bulbs-headlight.html
...everyone should have a manual for their vehicle, and the local library should have a professional shop manual available, to make copies of, in the Reference section...good luck:)
I've got a 2000 Grand Vitara and I believe that it is located behind the front grill. The front grill removes quite easily. -JRM
