Hopefully there is little gas in the tank when you start but it seems every time I do this the tank is near full. Jack and support the rear of the car. Loosen the tank straps and with a jack and flat square piece of wood ( about 1 ft square) take up the weight slightly with out denting the tank. With the straps loose start to lower the tank slightly till you have room to remove the fill tube hose. Lower some more till you have room to remove fuel lines and return line from the top of the tank. Lower the tank the rest of the way out. Clean the round area of dirt where the lines go into the tank. Big flat blade screwdriver and hammer ( or special tool from NAPA) tap the raised tabs around in a counter clockwise fashion. ( could go the other way can't remember but study the top you'll see what I'm talking about). Ring will come loose and pull fuel pump and sending unit out from the top. Remove the clamp and pull the pump off the sender, replace the pump install the clamp and reverse the procedure. Figure about 2 hours with hand tools and taking your time.
