You need to remove the transmission from the vehicle. Most people would take this to a repair shop.

Is there anything to align when replacing a clutch in a 98 Frontier 2wd or is it straight forward?

there is a tool that aligns the clutch disc with the pilot bushing to center it so that the input shaft will line up with the splines in the disc and pilot bushing. These are usually included with the kit which should include the tool, disc pressure plate, pilot bushing, throwout bearing, maybe spline grease. Also, lube the end of input shaft (go easy on the grease) and throwout bearing ball pivot and throwout bearing sleeve(what it rides on). Also when installing new bushing, don't use a punch to install or you will pean over edges and play hell getting input shaft in (use driver tool). Don't get any grease on the disc. Have flywheel resurfaced.

How do you replace the front wheel bearing on the driver side of a 2001 Dodge Ram 1500?

If you have 4wd the bearing is pressed onto to hub and can't be change. The unit is sold as a whole as a bearing hub. The cheapest I have found it was $171 at autozone. same is true for the 1500 2wd, only AutoZone doesn't have it listed! I had to get mine from the dealer. However, the dealer gave me a 8-lug hub instead of a 5-lug, but it had the same bearing.

How do you know if the throw out bearing is bad on a 95 geo tracker If it is then what is involved in replacing it Do you have to drop the tranny clutch recently replaced not tob.?

if TOB screams when you press the clutch it is bad. if it collapes the clutch will be very hard to control. if it desecrates, no more clutch at all. no shifting. pull tranny , replace PP, disc, TOB and pilot bearing ALWAYS as a set. 5hours out and 5 in , max. i pull motor faster. do in 3out and in. record time. depends if car is 2wd , 4wd, (xfr case is extra work) but pulling engine makes the above line not true
