The electronic key (remote-entry keyfob) has the lock/unlock/panic buttons on the top side and a Toyota logo on the bottom side. The front edge is what goes into the dash. On the rear edge is a keyring attached to a mechanical key and a slider to release it.
1) Hold the remote with the logo up and the slider facing away from your palm.
2) Move the slider to the right to release the mechanical key.
