I'm not sure I can tell you exactly how to replace it, but I just removed mine and I can tell you what keeps it in. The plastic collar around the metal body has 2 tabs on opposing sides that lock onto the back side of the hole to keep the lighter in. The way to remove it would be to depress the tabs while pulling on the lighter body. This is the tricky part. There is virtually no way to do it from the outside or even from inside the lighter. If you can get to the back f it, you could insert a small screwdriver and do it. I kind of just forced it out which damaged one of the tabs. Since I am planning on replacing it anyway, this didn't really upset me too much.
Replace: Fuse Socket Element
In a 2006 Dodge Ram, the fuse for the cigarette lighter is typically located in the fuse box under the dashboard on the driver's side. Look for a fuse labeled "CIG" or "CIGAR" in the fuse panel. If the cigarette lighter is not working, check this fuse and replace it if necessary. Always consult the owner's manual for the exact location and specifications.

Fuse in engine compartment
In a 1992 Dodge Spirit, the cigarette lighter fuse is located in the fuse box, which is typically found under the dashboard on the driver's side. You may need to remove a cover to access the fuse. Look for a fuse labeled "CIG" or "Cigarette Lighter" in the fuse diagram, which is usually on the back of the cover or in the owner's manual. If the fuse is blown, replacing it should restore functionality to the cigarette lighter.
