as with any alternator remove the bolts holding it to the engine then it should come off easily of course removing the belt is recommended. then either replace or service the alternator. On older marks an easy way to check the alternator just hold a screwdrivers tip to the rear center of the alternator, if it sticks the alternator works. if it doesn't replace it
