I just blew the speaker in my 2003 Eclipse GS and replaced it. All you have to do is get a firm grip on the lip above the clock and pull straight toward you. There is only a few clips holding in that little piece. And also the center speaker almost makes no difference in the sound quality, so the cheapest way to replace the speaker is to disconnect the old one and just tape up the wires to prevent shortage and just don't put a new one back in.
