What kind of vehicle? There are different transmissions, and different setups. For example, front wheel drive transmissions usually have to be supported from above the engine to remove the transmission. Then the clutch, and throwout bearing can be replaced. Caution!!! The engine being supported is NOT the only different thing you have to do. So reply with your vehicle Make, Model, and Year. I will be able to help you.
Most throwout bearings are sealed, and once they dry out and become noisy, they're done. The only option at that point is to replace them.
There is no way 2 adjust the clutch. The only way is 2 replace them. Clutch & pressure plate & throw out bearing, replace them all in one shot!!
It is probably the throw out bearing going bad. You have to remove the transmission from the bottom to replace it. Replace the clutch, pilot bearing, and throw out bearing and have the flywheel resurfaced.
When you push in the clutch if it rattles that is not the transmission but the clutch throw-out bearing. not necesarily the throw out bearing it could also be bad springs or fingers on clutch pressure plate could be cracked or loose fly wheel or could be one or more bad bearings in the gearbox
This is not cost effective. It's quicker and cheaper to replace the compressor.
To replace a throw out bearing in any car or truck you must remove the gearbox, then remove the clutch, then pull the bearing out of the flywheel and replace it. Assemble in reverse order.
A throw-out bearing, also known as a release bearing, is a component in a manual transmission system that enables the disengagement of the clutch. When the clutch pedal is pressed, the throw-out bearing pushes against the pressure plate, allowing the clutch to separate from the flywheel and enabling smooth gear shifts. It is typically located between the clutch fork and the pressure plate, and its proper functioning is crucial for effective clutch operation. Over time, throw-out bearings can wear out, leading to issues such as noise or difficulty in shifting gears.
To replace the throw-out bearing in a 1986 Toyota 22R pickup 4x4, first, disconnect the battery and remove the transmission by unbolting it from the engine and supporting it with a transmission jack. After removing the clutch assembly, take out the old throw-out bearing from the clutch fork. Install the new throw-out bearing onto the fork, reassemble the clutch and transmission, and finally reconnect the battery and test the clutch operation. Always refer to a service manual for specific torque specs and detailed steps.
Your throw-out bearing has went bad in the clutch assembly. You will have to replace the bearing. Inquire about a throw-out bearing at your local auto-parts store. It is a good rule of thumb that if you're going to dissasemble the clutch assembly, you should replace the clutch, and pressure plate too! When clutch-assy has been removed, check the fly-wheel for scarring on its face where the clutch assembly was once attached. The face should be smooth, and the fly-wheel should NOT be warped, pitted, or damaged! If it is, replace it before you put a brand new clutch assembly back onto the vehicle. Either the pump bearings are bad or the ac clutch is going bad. The clutch can be replaced but the pump bearings are not generally cost effective to change.
To replace the clutch on a 1991 Mazda Miata, first, disconnect the battery and lift the car securely. Remove the transmission by detaching the driveshaft, shift linkage, and bellhousing bolts. Once the transmission is out, you can access the clutch assembly; replace the clutch disc, pressure plate, and throw-out bearing. Reassemble by reversing the disassembly steps, ensuring all connections are secure before testing the new clutch.
The throw out bearing will only make noise when you press the clutch pedal. If the clutch is new, the throw out bearing is a required replacement in a clutch job. Sounds like a bad pilot bearing. Not enough info in the question. I had the same problm and it was input shaft bering, AND the counter shaft bering. Replace them and sloved the problm.
