How do you replace the fuel filter located on a 1993 Ford F-150 302 V8?

Hey Srephen==Get under the truck and trace the line from the tank toward the engine and I think it is under the pass seat between the frame. Some of these require special tools to release the clamps but they can be bought from the parts store pretty cheaply. GoodluckJoe

Special Gasline/AC line removal tools are required. They look like "collars" that wrap around the gas line and then are pushed into the connector which releases the spring clip. The gas line will then easily pull out of the filter. These tools can be purchased at any auto parts store as a "kit" and are relatively inexpensive. Easy job with the right tool.

The crimped metal portions of the fuel line contain special springs that hold onto the fuel filter ends. If the springs contains dust (and they likely will because they are not sheilded from road dust), some one will have to replace them. Under this condition, the backyard mechanic will have great difficulty using the special filter line tools.

I bought two different line tools, but would not remove the filter. Instead, the dealership mechanic had to remove the crimped metal ends off the line and install new ones.

Well i may be mistaken but ny 1991 just changed the filter and it is located under the drivers feet, in the frame rail, and if yoy look at it you can take the clips off with a straight screw driver just lift upward on the tab. They slide out on both ends and then reverse the procedure to put new filter on. The clips other people our talking about are at the fuel rail and do take special ac/fuelline tools available at auto zone resonably cheap
