Raise vehicle safely, disconnect battery ground. Prepare for some gas spillage with a pan. You will be removing a hex/metric fitting on one end of the fliter using two wrenches ,and once it is loose, gas will leak out into your catch pan. Finish removing this end. Now on the other end, you will usually find a 'quick clip' connection which can be a pain to remove. I have found the '$30.00 special tool' is not as good as a decent set of fingers. Here is how I do it: squeeze the ears on the clip together then push the ears toward the filter and quickly pull them away. It may take a few trys. They go together easy however. Reverse procedure and check for leaks. Done. Good luck.
