Mine's a 96 corolla but hopefully it will be the same.
Turn off ignition switch and headlight switch. Open hood. Unplug the connector (wiggle it if its tight)
Turn the plastic cover counterclockwise and remove the cover.
Remove the rubber cover.
Release the bulb retaining spring (this is not a curly spring, its a wire clip that goes across the back of the bulb.
Remove bulb.
Align new bulb by the tabs around the edge.
Clip spring back in place.....
