How do you replace the ignition cylinder in a Saturn s series 2002 the cylinder will not turn with the key in?
you have to get it to turn otherwise you will have to replace the housing,if you get it to turn than put it in the run position with the key in on the right side there will be a small hole.put a piece of a coat hanger in the hole this will allow you to push up the tab to remove the cylider,however if you are having trouble than the key will most likely worn excessivly you will need the key to pull on to get the cylinder out if the ket will not stay in the cylinder than use a screwdriver to try to pry it out,if you are having trouble than here a two tips,turn the key slightly back I MEAN SLIGHTLY BACK and try again also if the vehcicle ahs an automatic transmission remove the shift interlock cable from under the housing this will be a black plastic piece right underneath the cylinder,heres the key u will probably break the 3 little plastic clips no worrys if and when u do this simply reattach it by wraping a wire tie around it,if u are curious how i know this it is because im a technician that works at a Saturn dealership.

No such thing exists on a 91-02 Saturn s-series. The above is correct... mostly. Saturn did not use a physical camshaft positioning sensor on any of its S-series vehicles. There is however a pseudo camshaft pulse generated by the ignition control module and sent to the computer. If you are receiving faulty cam position sensor trouble codes, the problem exists in the Ignition control module.
