Bringto shop that has an ABS scanner to determine problem and/or reset
Wow, taking it to a shop would have never crossed my mind! The guy is a freaking Einstein! Put that guy on Jeopardy! Bringto is not a word, genius!
Unplugging the battery or having a shop erase the ABS code will only come back on when you start it up again. If you have mechanical abilities, purchase an Actron Brake Scanner CP9449 (mine was $120), check the code and fix it yourself. After a repair, the computer will run a self check and reset the light and code. If the light is still on, you still have a problem. Note: the CP9449 is not capable of resetting codes.
The light is on because there is a problem detected by the ABS/Traction control module. Once the problem is fixed the light will reset itself after a short drive.
The computer resets itself. as for the ABS-Traction control-Tire Pressure... the ABS sensors on the wheels get information for your ABS, traction control and your tire pressure monitoring system, if the ABS has a problem, it disables itself along with the traction control and the tire monitor. You have a problem with your ABS system..get it checked out
There is a problem with the ABS system. It is part of Traction Control. If the ABS is not working then the Traction Control is not working. You still have standard braking but probably no ABS. Have this checked by a professional, as it can be many things.
If the abs/traction light is on you have a problem with the system. When the problem is fixed the light will reset itself after a short drive.
The light is on because the system detects a problem. The light will continue to come on until the problem is fixed. Once the problem is fixed the light will reset itself. Have your local auto parts store read the codes from the TC/ABS module. The codes will help pin point the problem.
you cant bad speed senser in one of the wheel bearings is abs light on?
Traction control is part of the ABS (antilock brake) module.
after fixing the whatever abs problems or traction control problems you had the light should go off automatically. if it does not you have not fixed the problem.
Those lights stay on when there is a malfunction in the ABS or traction control system. You need to have the system checked for codes with a scan tool.
The traction control/ABS system detects a problem with the system. Your local auto parts store can read the TC/ABS codes for you at no cost. The codes will help pin point what the problem is then you can determine the next step to correct it. As long as the TC/ABS light is on the system won't function should you need it.
From what I know your abs is what has the traction control built in, your abs controls your master cylinder, so if you are having a traction control problem you are going to want to replace your abs box not your master.
Problem with the ABS. The Traction Control is off because it uses the ABS to control traction. As this is part of the TC system it has also shut down. Have the problem with the ABS repaired by a professional and both will start working again.
