As on many cars these days, we often can be "bumped" in the rear while parked or otherwise and this can shut down the fuel system temporarily. Open your trunk lid and on the left side(fender area) there is a box or compartment cover. Just look around for it, its there... Inside there is a reset button... just press it and your vehicle should restart. Anything beyond this may r4equire the assistance of a mechanic..blah, blah...

I'm not sure if the 1986 is the same as the 1987 , but ( on the 1987 Mercury Grand Marquis the 5.0 liter / 302 cubic inch V8 engine is rated at 150 horsepower and the 5.8 liter / 351 cubic inch V8 engine is rated at 180 horsepower according to my Chilton's Auto Repair Manual )
