DOT ( 3 ) brake fluid
Brake fluid is an extremely important component of vehicle maintenance. For a 2007 Impala, there are several brake fluids to choose from. The brake fluid will depend on the specific needs for your car. The factory brake fluid is a DOT 4 fluid.

Just regular DOT-3 brake fluid is what you need.
Look on the brake fluid reservoir cover, it should have the type of fluid required labeled on it. Most autos use dot 3 as I am sure your Impala does, unless it has a special brake system.
The 1967 Chevrolet Impala takes many different types of fluid. 10W-30 motor oil is recommended. A SAE Chevrolet transmission fluid can be used in the transmission.
Check the brake fluid level, as on many vehicles the "emergency brake" (in the UK, Hand-brake) warning light also acts as a warning light for low brake-fluid.
