Try by turning the key to on and immediately pressing the accelerator to the floor three times. turn the key off and start the vehicle. If the light came back on there is one other thing you can try. Disconnect the battery for about 15 minutes and check again for a light. If the light comes on you are going to have to have a scanner to find out what the problem is and reset it. Your local auto parts store will usually scan for you free of charge in hopes of selling you the corrective part. Good luck.

it means when the maintenance light is on
If you mean a low fuel light, then NO.
It should if it is the round body style such as 2001 or 2002.
Most likely the fuse is blown for the dome light on the Silverado if the light doesn't come on.
A Silverado C1500 is a 2WD light truck, K1500 is a 4WD light truck. Please clarify what you mean about the r and the v as I am unfamiliar with that coding.

The Maintenance Required Light is not the same as the Check Engine Light. The Maintenance Required Light is telling you that there is scheduled maintenance that needs to be performed. It may mean it needs an oil/filter change. To find out what needs to be done look at the maintenance schedule in your owner's manual.
Yes but, if the light is flashing no.
The check engine light comes on when the ECU detects a problem with the emission system. The maintenance required light comes on when some maintenance is required on the vehicle such as an oil/filter change.
