i need to find out how to set the timing on a Yamaha xt 500
I need to know how to set the timing on a 650 Yamaha silverado 2002. Thank you
If something else is wrong. My chain slipped and went through the crank case and destroyed the engine. But it was old. I've heard of this happening on other Yamaha's, so maybe their timing chains need to be replace sooner. not sure
You need a timing tool
On a Yamaha Bruin 350 automatic, the timing mark can typically be found on the flywheel or the crankshaft. To locate it, you may need to remove the left side engine cover and look for a notch or a mark on the flywheel that aligns with a reference point on the engine case. Always refer to the service manual for specific details and procedures related to your model.
It does not have a timing belt, That engine has a timing chain and gears and they normally last the life of the engine.
Got a sex life but I need an exhaust.
NO. A timing light will not work on that engine. You must have an obdII engine scanner to set the timing on that year.
Not sure what engine you have. My pathfinder has the 3.5L engine and it has a timing chain. I've heard that the timing chain doesn't need to be replaced until the engine wears out and requires a complete rebuild.
Timing chains are designed to last the life of the engine. Replace the chain when the engine is overhauled.
Timing is off. You may need a new timing belt.
You need to change the timing chain on a 3.8 Commodore engine when it becomes worn out or it brakes. This is not considered routine maintenance.
