The zd30 has a hydraulic tensioner using an idler pulley to automatically tension the serpentine belt.
Tension is accomplished with a belt tensioner, it is probably defective and needs replaced.
if belt needs tightening, u need a new belt serpentine belts use a tension pulley that automatically keeps belt tight until belt is worn out or stretched.
If it is a drive belt and not a serpentine belt is has no tensioner. You manually adjust the tension by normally adjusting tension by moving the alternator. Loosen to bolts holding the alternator in place and then adjust the tension. Tighten the bolts when the tension is right. If it is serpentine belt if you follow the belt around the the engine you will see the tensioner.
you probably need to replace a serpentine belt or a tensioner. check your belt and pulleys for abnormal wear and proper tension
Closest to front of engine (where serpentine belt is).
how do i find the auto tension release for the serpentine belt on a 2004solara
If it has a serpentine belt it should have an automatic belt tensioner If it doesn't have a serpentine belt then alternator should be the adjustment/pivot point
The tension on a serpentine belt is automatically set by the Idler Tension Pulley. If you find it is not correctly setting the tension, the the spring may be broken.
Remove belt and tensioner should just be bolted to engine
Most serpentine belt systems have a self adjusting tensioner.
To change the serpentine belt tensioner on a '97 Cavalier W24 L engine, first, ensure the engine is off and cool. Locate the tensioner, then use a wrench or socket to rotate it counterclockwise, releasing tension on the serpentine belt. Remove the belt from the tensioner and the other pulleys, then unbolt the tensioner from its mounting bracket. Install the new tensioner, re-thread the serpentine belt according to the routing diagram, and finally, check the tension and alignment.
To change the serpentine drive belt on a 5.6 Nissan Titan, first, ensure the engine is off and cool. Remove the engine cover if necessary, then locate the belt tensioner and use a ratchet or breaker bar to relieve tension on the belt. Carefully slide the old belt off the pulleys, then route the new belt according to the diagram typically found on a sticker under the hood. Once the new belt is in place, release the tensioner and check the belt alignment before reassembling any components you removed.
