Best just to remove the nut and replace it with an new one, or grab a pair of pliers and tighten it that way if you absolutely need to.
There is a nut under the plastic cover at the base of the arm.
I used a channel lock pliers to rotate the cap back and forth. After it would rotate on the post, I was able to pull up with the pliers and remove the cap. You could also cut the nut off the shaft to relieve the tension. On the inside of the cap is another cap that has slits on the sidewall and a threaded shaft on top. The threaded shaft fits thru the hole in the outer cap and the nut is used to draw the inner cap inside the outer cap. As you tighten the nut on the top, it pulls the cap up into the outer cap and squeezes the inner cap against the battery post.
A stripped hex nut is a nut that has lost its grip on a bolt due to wear or damage, making it difficult to tighten or loosen. This can be prevented by using the correct tools and techniques when tightening or loosening the nut, avoiding over-tightening, and regularly inspecting and replacing worn nuts.
Use the appropriate socket on the nut and tighten it. Make sure the cable is in the correct position first.
this is actually a very simple task. remove the bolts that hold the terminals on. slide them off and clean them with a wire brush. remove the nut that holds the metal bar that holds the battery in place. replace the battery. replace the nut, tighten it. replace the terminals and tighten them.
When the 13mm battery hold down has stripped, then you have a couple of options. You could use a longer bolt of a smaller diameter to go through the stripped out section then lock down with a nut on the bottom, or the 13mm can be drilled out and tapped to a bigger size.
with a nut splitter
To remove a stripped nut on a bicycle, you can try using a pair of locking pliers or a wrench with a larger size to grip the nut firmly and turn it counterclockwise. If that doesn't work, you can also try using a nut splitter or a bolt extractor tool to remove the nut. Be careful not to damage the surrounding parts of the bicycle while attempting to remove the stripped nut.
The lock nut may not tighten properly due to incorrect threading alignment or damage to the nut or bolt. It is important to ensure that the threads are clean and properly aligned before attempting to tighten the lock nut.
To tighten the steering you just tighten the nut under it and then your done. NICE
The same way you tighten any other nut. Use the appropriate tool to the recommended specifications.
Tighten the proper size of nut. Or loosen same.
