You must locate 3 bolts securing the pump to the engine.. Main support bolt.. Adjustment bolt at elongated hole and the rear pump stabilizing bolt.. once loose so that the pump moves back and forth, pull the pump against the belt until the belt deflects up or down in the middle of it's travel no more than 1/2 inch.. That's 1/4" up and 1/4" down.. Tighten the adjustment bolt first, then the remaining bolts.. Job done. It will take two hands unless you have the special tool to hold the pump for you.
Hi i have an 84 delta 88 and am trying to tighten the power steering belt as well,I noticed that one bolt for it is through the pully and another behind the pump on the bottem side.I cant seem to break the bottem one loose so im not sure if that's all the bolts or not I will let you know when i get it,Thanks Bill
Power steering belt or the power steering pump.
Yes it will.
buy new bushings if needed for the rod and tighten the clamps holding the bushings
in the power steering pump, on drivers side out near front of motor.
It does not matter on that year, as long as it is PS fluid.

Go to your local parts supplier and get an exploded picture of the steering column. Most will have this as a free service. The steering wheel has to come off, as well as some pieces to get to the bolts that hold it together. Tighten the bolts and it should be fine. This is a common problem and will probably take you about 1 - 1.5 hours to do depending on options vehicle has.
