Use a small ratchet with a 9mm socket and rotate clockwise. The terminal connections will come right off. Make sure to take the positive (red) connecton off first.
Don't think so but it can make a battery go dead. I heard you should unhook the battery terminals if it isn't going to be driven in a while.
