What aspect of the steering wheel/system? If you just want to raise or lower the steering wheel, there should be a handle on the left side of the steering column about halfway between the back of the steering wheel and the dashboard. This is the lever to release when you want to adjust the steering wheel up or down. Push the lever back up to lock into place and the indicator should go out. If it is still on when the steering wheel is locked, then that could be a electrical fault with the sensor.
There are a couple ways to do this. A&W Direct sells a steering wheel bar that locks the steering wheel in place. Or, what I used to do, you could wrap the seat belt around the steering wheel, click it in, and then slide the seat back as far as you can and that should keep the wheel from moving.
there should be a couple of bolts on the back side of your steering wheel that removes the front face and after you take that off there will be a large nut that will take off the rest of the steering wheel, but remember to disconnect the airbag before you remove the steering wheel cause you could set it off.
When moving the steering wheel back and forth in a commercial truck, the component that should be turning is the steering gearbox or rack and pinion system. This mechanism translates the rotational motion of the steering wheel into lateral movement, allowing the vehicle's wheels to turn. Proper functioning of this component is crucial for steering responsiveness and safety. If there's excessive play or difficulty in steering, it may indicate a problem with the gearbox or related steering components.
