According to my Chilton's book :
A 1987 AMC Eagle with the 258 cubic inch ( 4.2 liter ) inline six cylinder engine
takes ( 5.0 U.S. quarts with engine oil filter change )
AMC Eagle was created in 1980.
There are no 1991 AMC Eagles, you must mean 1981 AMC Eagle. Stalling can be caused by many things but more than likely it is a carburetor problem.
On an American Motors Corporation Eagle, the fuel pump is located on the left side of the engine near the bottom because it is a mechanical fuel pump. It is run off the cam. You Should be able to find it by following the line off the carb that goes over the front of the engine. IF you do not have an AMC Eagle but a vehicle that has EFI system. Then the fuel pump will most likely be located in the gas tank.
