Why the fuel consumption is less in 4 stroke engine as compared to 2 stroke engine
A 2 stroke fires each cylinder, every revolution. In comparison a 4 stroke only fires half the cylinders every revolution. So a 250cc 2-stroke engine should have the same power as a 500cc 4stroke(has the same amount of CC's fired per revolution).
A four stroke engine has 4 strokes per cycle, whereas the two stroke engine has only 2 strokes per cycle. Since the 2 stroke engine has twice as many power strokes as a 4 stroke engine at a given rpm, the 2 stroke is capable of making nearly twice the power of a 4 stroke for a given displacement.
