Because the number of gears in the transmission has NOTHING to do with the number of cylinders in the engine, there is no way to answer this completely. However, since a one cylinder motor is only possible with a 2 stroke and a HUGE centrifuge, there would be no way to have multiple gears in a one cylinder engine. It would have to be a generator of some sort with a single ratio clutch system, like one could find in a lawn mower type engine.
the difference between a 6 gear and a 4 gear car is 2 gears one has 6 gears and one has 4 gears
turn the rotor back to the number one cylinder and putting the car at top dead center
If your car has the 2.8V6 it has a timing chain. If your car has the 2.54 cylinder engine it has timing gears. Neither has a timing belt or the problems that come with one.
Not 100% sure on an excel, but where is it leaking? If your car has no clutch fluid then you will not be able to change gears, I would check the seals on the master/slave cylinder, as that is one of the more common places clutches leak.
front of the engine closest to the timing gears
One, the cylinder head.
Front cylinder on right side. Front means "front of the car."
It depends upon cylinder in car. 3 ignition coils - 3 cylinder engine. 4 ignition coils- 4 cylinder engine.
Assuming we are talking automatic transmissions, you would use park or neutral to start the engine but neither one are gears.
YES ! -Each cylinder in a conventional car engine has one piston.
Not enough information. Will the car shift gears with the engine off? Is the gear shifter stuck in one particular gear?
I would say with any car you would have too. the gears of a car work like a zipper with the teeth of the different gears. when you put a car into 4wd or 2wd, you are trying to engage or disengage the gears for those sets of wheels. when switching gears, the clutch goes in, effectively disengaging the gears so that it may be rotated to the next then re-engaged. Because your car is automatic though I don't know how that effects it. one thing though, it can't hurt it try it that way first.
