To change the gearbox oil seal on a Fiat Punto, first, ensure the vehicle is securely raised and supported. Drain the gearbox oil, then remove the driveshaft or any components obstructing access to the seal. Using a suitable tool, carefully pry out the old seal, clean the area, and install the new seal, ensuring it is seated properly. Finally, reassemble any removed components and refill the gearbox with the appropriate oil.
It asked the same question a couple of years back and the response was that it was very difficult to get a good indication of the oil level. The best idea is to drain and refill it.
