If a 2001 Olds Alero will turn over but not fire could it be the fuel injector relay fuel filter or fuel pump?
Is this car still under warranty? Have it taken to the dealer.

I'll tell you what does NOT seem to work.....
You need 3 things to fire an engine; 1)sufficient, combustible fuel 2)oxygen 3)properly timed spark
I know I have the oxygen and spark since my engine runs with other fuel sources introduced (starting fluid.) I then confirmed the gasoline in the tank is good (bled off enough to try in the lawn mower.) After checking the fuel pump (checked good) for consistent/proper pressure & volume, I replaced the fuel pressure unit and ignition control module. I then installed new fuel injectors. I've been on this for 2 weeks now and am hundreds of dollars in the hole. Every web search brings me yet another solution to try (EGR valve, O2 sensor, "hydro-lock" in the cylinders, on-and-on.) When I do finally take it to the dealer I am sure I will be charged for his time spent double-checking my efforts. So......

There are several things that could cause is. The fuel pump itself might be defective. It may also be that you have a blown fuel pump fuse or the fuel pump relay is defective. Another possibility is a clogged fuel filter.

The 2001 Alero (probably the 2004 as well) has the horn relay in the black fuse/relay box under the hood close to the fire wall at the driver side. There is a thumb screw on top and when you open the lid it shows a list of fuses and relays. The horn relay is #21.
