Check the fuses Check the backup switch Check the wiring - make sure that there is good contact.
The taillight bulbs can be easily replaced on a Honda Civic. Open the trunk and locate the plastic covers. Remove the plastic cover and pull the bulbs. Replace with new bulbs and install the covers.
Check the appropriate fuses first, if they are okay it may need to have the dash light bulbs replaced - espcially on a vehicle that old.
