One of a few things depending on the click. If it makes consecutive clicks when you turn the key (click, click, click, click) then the odds are the battery is dead or in need of charging and there just isn't enough charge to fully engage the starter and turn over the engine. If it clicks just once, the selenoid is usually bad, or the starter is "locked" and will need to be replaced.
Broken starter drive? Broken tooth on converter/flywheel?
It could be a starter problem....can you tell where the click is coming from? is it the started clicking, or a relay clicking?
starter is going it. round 165 to replace
Could be a dead battery or a problem with the starter...most likely the solenoid switch.
Solenoid could be installed incorrectly. Could be electrical connection on the solenoid. Did you re-connect the battery? Could be a bad starter motor...or a stuck starter motor. Sometimes a light tap or two on the starter motor (not the solenoid) with a hammer will free it up.
To give a generic answer, it kinda depends on what type of click. If it is a rapid click-click-click-click... it is probably a dead (or near dead) battery. If it is just one solid "click", it is probably your starter. The single click is the sound of the selinoid clicking in to try to engage the starter. If the starter is faulty, it won't engage and turn your engine over to start.
It could be a bad starter, or a weak battery. The clicking sounds like the solenoid is engaging, or trying to engage.
Your problem is prob the starter, if you hear grinding it def is, Tho if starter is good could be ignition relay
Bad starter, bad flywheel/ring gear, bad starter/flywheel alignment.
Could be that the battery is dead or the starter is bad.
Could be the Starter or the Transmission
your battery is low or the engine is stuck/seized or the starter has failed.
