The 5.4 liter Triton Engine has a coil for each cylinder, located over the spark plug of each cylinder.
fords truck firing order on the passanger side 1 2 3 4 on the driver 5 6 7 8 kinda stupid
The above is how the cylinders are numbered in the engine; front to back on the passenger side bank (1 2 3 4) and front to back on the driver side bank (5 6 7 8). The actual firing order is 1-3-7-2-6-5-4-8.
On the 5.4 Triton V8 engine, ignition coil A is located on the driver's side of the engine, specifically at the front cylinder, which is the first cylinder closest to the radiator. The ignition coils are mounted on top of each spark plug, and you can access coil A by removing the engine cover and the necessary components for better visibility.
THERE IS NO DISTRIBUTOR ON A 5.4. IT USES IGNITION COIL PACKS
they a use a coil over plug type ingnition, each plug has its own small coil that sits right on top
It doesn't have a distributor cap , it's coil on plug ignition
Yes , they are under the 8 individual coils for the Coil On Plug ( C.O.P. ) ignition system
Unplug the connector on the base of the coil. Remove the bolt that holds the coil in place. Pull the coil and spark plug boot off the spark plug. Install new coil in reverse order.
The ignition coil is inside the ignition distributor.
No. The coil provides the spark and the module tells the coil when to spark.
it is the back cylinder (closest to the firewall) on the passenger side. If you are diagnosing a missfire code on cyl number 4, you probably have a bad ignition coil on that cylinder
The 1998 Toyota ignition coil is located on the firewall, in the engine compartment. The ignition coil can be found on the passenger side of the firewall.
firewall 4 - 8 3 - 7 2 - 6 1 - 5 front Coil On Plug ( C.O.P. ) ignition system
REMOVAL PROCEDURE Remove the engine cover. Disconnect the spark plug wires at the ignition coils. Disconnect the ignition coil harness connector. Remove the ignition coil mounting bolts. Remove the ignition coil. INSTALLATION PROCEDURE Install the ignition coil to the bracket. Install the ignition coil mounting bolts. NOTE: Refer to Fastener Notice in Service Precautions. Tighten Tighten the ignition coil mounting bolts to 8 N.m (71 lb in) . Connect the ignition coil harness connector. Connect the spark plug wires at the ignition coils. Install the engine cover.
