Runflat TireThe run flat tire is in case you get a flat tire the car is still able to be driven under 50 miles per hour till you can get it changed. After bringing it to the repair shop, make sure they have reset the button which is found on the gear shift. If it's not reset, then the car won't be able to monitor when a flat is actually happening the next time. I have also heard that run flat tires cannot be repaired and that the whole tire has to be replaced, this is what the dealer says, but other repair places say not the case. Run flat tires should not be repaired, it is not safe. Runflat tires are not designed to allow you to continue normal driving. If your run flat tire goes flat, you need to go immediately to a shop, you usually have less than fifty miles before the tire is completely unusable. There is something called duraseal technology automatically seals the tire so it can continue to be used, this is only available for truck tires right now, the technology is not availbable for passenger tires, but maybe one day.
