bad clutch cable, or not enough oil on the clutch plates.
depends on the bike, on our wet sump, we use regular petroleum, on the dry clutch, can use fully synthetic, can feel power differently, but full synthetic makes the clutch slip on wet clutch bikes.
No, the engine oil and trans oil are not fed from the same tank on H.D. bikes. Engine oil is separate, from the primary drive chain on 4 speed big twins, the transmission oil is also separate. Sportster engines have separate engine oil and their transmissions share primary case oil with the wet clutch. 5 speed models wet clutch models have separate primary case lube, transmission lube and engine oil. As far as my memory serves, no Harley Davidsons have shared engine oil and transmission oil similar to some Jap bikes
usually any type of 2stroke air cooled blend... the fuel oil mix for poctet bikes is usually 50:1
Note that motorbike oil may be different from car oil because in some motorbikes, the oil is also used to lubricate the disc type clutch. For this reason, most automotive oils are too slippery because of special additives and should not be used where a disc clutch is involved. Using an oil formulated for automobile engines can, and usually will, cause the motorbike disc clutch to fail on bikes and atv's. Some oils, like some of the 15w40 weight oils formulated for diesel engines only, will perform correctly in disc clutches on bikes.
