01 Yukon 3rd brake light removal......changing the third brake light on a 2001 Yukon is a relatively easy task. First open the rear liftgate (not just the glass). This will expose the two screws that secure the housing of the lamp to the body (it also exposes the connector plug which, obviously, you should unplug). After removing the two screws, separate the rubber housing from the LED lamp itself....and there you have it!...because the third brake light is a sealed lamp the entire brake light must be changed. you cant just replace the bulbs. ...
You can also try ebay. I just purchased the 3rd brake light for my 2004 Yukon and saved $50 over the dealer for a new 3rd brake light. You can try at an auto salvage yard.

On a 2001 Yukon, the brake sensor, often referred to as the brake light switch, is typically located above the brake pedal assembly. It is mounted on the brake pedal bracket and is activated when the brake pedal is pressed. This switch controls the brake lights and may also be linked to other systems, such as the cruise control. If you're troubleshooting, ensure to check the wiring and connections to the switch as well.
The 2001 Chevy Blazer brake lights may not work and the third bake stays on because the current light needs to be replaced. A replacement brake light can be purchased at an Auto Parts store like Pep Boys.
To change the third brake light bulb in a 2001 Kia Sephia, first, open the trunk and locate the plastic cover where the third brake light is situated. Remove the cover by unscrewing any screws or unclipping it. Once exposed, twist the bulb socket counterclockwise to release it, then pull out the old bulb and replace it with a new one. Reinsert the bulb socket, secure the cover back in place, and your third brake light should be functioning properly.

Could be a bad bulb. The same bulb has two filaments, one for the tail lights and one for the brake lights.
Yes, a 2001 GMC Yukon is equipped with rear brake rotors. Most models of this year feature disc brakes on both the front and rear, which include brake rotors at the rear. This design is common in SUVs for improved braking performance and safety.
