a relay is used, so that a small amount of current can control a large amount of current. in the case of fuel injectors, there is not a large amount of current, therefore, there is no fuel injector relay.
call a ford dealer and speak with the shop foreman...also the library should have a shop manual for this vehicle, you can make copies of the right sections :)
where is the head light relay location if it is not in power distribution box on a 1998 ford ranger xlt

On a 2003 Ford Ranger : In the power distribution box ( which is " live " ) located in the engine compartment on the drivers side ( Relay 46A is the fuel pump relay ) You can view the 2003 Ford Ranger owners manual online ( which includes diagrams of the power distribution box ) online at : www . motorcraft service . com ( no spaces ) Click on Owner Guides Page 156 has the 2.3 liter power distribution box diagram Page 159 has the 3.0 + 4.0 liter power distribution box diagram ( the fuel pump relay is in the same location for all engines )
The location of the start-injector relay is under the drivers side dash almost directly above the accelerator (gas) pedal. You can identify it as a gray top and sides with a red bottom (where the connector is). There is a locking clip that holds the relay in place (it normally breaks when removed). Hope this helps, Steve
For the 2.3 liter 4 cylinder ( 46 A ) For the 3.0 and 4.0 liter V6 (48 A ) In the engine compartment power distribution box ( P D box is " live " )
The horn relay for a Ford Ranger with a 2.3-liter engine is typically located in the power distribution box under the hood. This box is usually found near the driver's side of the engine compartment. You can identify the horn relay by referring to the diagram on the cover of the power distribution box, which outlines the location and function of each relay and fuse. If you're having trouble locating it, checking the owner's manual can provide additional guidance.
where is the horn relay on a 93 ranger
On the 2003 Ranger 3.0 L and 4.0 L , the starter relay is in location # 56 of your power distribution box in your engine compartment ( large relay in corner of PD BOX ) Ford recommends disconnecting your battery before servicing fuses/relays in PD BOX in which case the Ranger will have to re-learn its idle etc. Also , there is a 50 amp maxi-fuse in location # 11 of your PD BOX for the starter relay and ignition switch
