You definitely want to run full synthetic. I would recommend royal purple or amsoil as they are the best of the best, but you could also run mobile1 and not have any issues. as far as viscosity, I've run 5w30 and 10w30 with no issues. The Hayes books on firebird/camaro 93-02 say to use the higher as long as you aren't somewhere that gets too cold. if you're in the northern hemisphere or anywhere that it snows a decent amount really, your best bet is 5w30
