Buy a bottle of Lucas transmission fix, pour it in, make sure you warm the veh. up for at least 15 minutes before driving it, and pray it gets you through till you can get a new one. Not fun!!! I had several explorers with this problem. I was able to drive them all for over a year with the lucas trans fix in it before it went ka-put.
