i parked mt car two months approx. used my truck This past summer i couldn't get it started when i bought it put a pick up coil and set distributor ran fine.. but since i parked it i just went to start it and it cranked over wouldn't fire.. my son says its not getting gas up.. this summer I put a new fuel pump and filter on it. when he poured some gas in the carburator it would fire but die out quickly. sprayed starter fluid in it, it backfired a bit of fire and wouldn' t run? what could be wrong Ihad put 5gallons of gas in the tank to make sure it wasn't empty.

Some generic causes (no year make model, engine size, etc. given): Fuel pump, float in carb, dirt in carb, fuel pump relay, electrical problem in relay/fuse box, I've even seen a plugged/collapsed fuel line.

1)check to see if fuel pressure is there and correct. Take line off carb and disable the coil(no spark) and see it fuel comes out of line when turned over. Really should use a fuel pressure guage to get a proper psi number and less mess. Then go from there.

Make sure you have gas in tank! people have been known to siphon it out and gas guages have been known to lie.....

Where is the fuel filter on 1979 ford F-150?

The filter is on the carburetor ,the fuel line from the fuel pump connects to it. Remove the fuel line , using a wrench on the filter as well to keep it from turning , then remove the filter (steel) from the carburetor .

Why would no fuel be getting to the carburetor?

Could be any of these: Bad fuel pump, blown fuse or broken wire (if you have an electric pump), dirty fuel filter, blocked fuel line, fuel line leaking, no gas in the tank.

Where is the fuel filter on a 1967 galaxie?

The fuel filter should be right in the carburetor, remove the fuel line nut and the line (or clamp and hose). There is a larger nut that the fuel line goes into, that is your fuel filter. Just unscrew it from the carburetor There maybe a in-line filter as well, it will be between the fuel pump on the engine (lower drivers side of block on v8) and the carburetor.

86 Honda Accord LX 2L 4bb carburetor not getting fuel to the carburetor the in-tank fuel pump humes the two in-line fuel filters are new and not plugged the tank is one half full what's the problem?

Loosen the fuel line into the carb while the fuel pump is running and see if there is any fuel actually getting TO the carb. If it's getting there you could have a stuck needle and seat valve. If nothing comes out, loosen the line to the first fuel filter and see if you can get any fuel out. If not, the fuel filter could be TRYING to pump but the screen might be blocked or the pump motor might be working but the pump might be worn out.

Where is the fuel filter on the 1969 amc rambler?

Follow the fuel line forward from the fuel tank to the fuel pump and look for the filter. If you do not find it, then follow the fuel line from the fuel pump mounted on the engine block to the carburetor. If you do not find it, then your Rambler may have the filter mounted at the fuel line intake on the carburetor itself. If you see a large bolt type connection at the fuel intake of the carburetor, the filter is located behind that bolt. Slowly and carefully remove that bolt with the proper tool and you will find a cartridge type filter that is spring loaded. If you buy the filter first then you will know what type it has. Where is the fuel filter located on 1972 Chevy truck?

It should be after the fuel pump somewhere near the carburetor if not attached to it.

Were to locate fuel filter on 1982 Chevy c10 truck?

The fuel filter is in the carburetor. if you're facing the engine, hood up, remove the air filter assembly. There's a large bolt in the lower right position of the front of the carburetor a little bit above the carburetor plate. You have to unscrew this bolt to get out the fuel filter. CAUTION: When I did it, the bolt was in cockeyed and it stripped out and cracked the carburetor. I had to jb weld the carb, and jb weld the bolt back in place with no fuel filter replacement. Then I had to run a hose with a removable fuel filter from the fuel pump to the carburetor. Now I can see the fuel filter and replace it readily.

What do I need to replace with my vehicle when the fuel pump is good but fuel isn't getting to my 1993 cutlas cruiser?

Fuel filter. Also use compressed air to blow out the fuel line to the fuel rail if FI equipped. If carburetor take the fuel line off at the carburetor before attempting to blow out the line.

Where is the fuel filter located on a 1978 Cadillac Eldorado?

It depends if your car has the four barrel carburetor or is electronically fuel injected. carbureted cars have the fuel filter located behind the carburetor inlet nut. Just follow the metal fuel line from the pump to the carburetor. If your car is fuel injected cars the filter is located in a bracket on the lower left portion of the engine.
