If its at the bottom of the engine it could be you're bearings of your camshaft. Get it checked asap. Might need to be rebuilt

I agree, but would add that what you describe sounds a lot like a wrist pin knock.

This is pretty serious, but can be taken care of less expensively if you fix it before it actually breaks.

The wrist pin attaches the connecting rod to the piston, it will begin to wallow out and knock every time it goes up or down.

If you continue to drive it the joint will break and the piston will be destroyed along with the cylinder.
